Sustainability

Our commitment

Improving the Hotel’s Environmental Management

Our hotel uses Stay For The Planet, LifeGate Impact’s platform to monitor the property’s environmental performance, understand our impacts, and identify opportunities to improve hotel management.

The areas assessed through Stay For The Planet are:

Energy: electricity and heating sources, fugitive emissions, fuels for the company fleet, energy efficiency of the building and equipment.

Water: water consumption by supply source, water-saving measures.

Waste: quantity and type of waste generated, disposal methods, and prevention actions.

Procurement: sourcing policies and environmental and social selection criteria.

Our sustainable approach

Our environmental strategy is implemented across multiple levels, through measurable and transparent actions:

Reducing environmental impact

We monitor energy and water consumption and adopt virtuous actions that have a positive impact on the environment, such as the use of energy-efficient lighting, the purchase of renewable energy and water saving. We are also committed to promoting separate waste collection among our customers and collaborators, by making special bins available in common areas (or on the floors).

Limiting the use of plastic

We aim to transform our hotel into a Plastic Less environment, eliminating, where possible, the use of single-use plastic or replacing it with certified biodegradable materials.

Sustainable purchases

We guide our purchasing decisions according to some fundamental principles:
- For food, we favor local and seasonal products, preferring those sold loose. - We minimize packaging and choose products with recyclable packaging.
- We select products from companies committed to reducing their carbon footprint, verifying this commitment and the reliability of their eco-certifications. - We inform all our suppliers of our sustainable choices.

Customer awareness

We believe sustainability is a shared commitment. Everyone can make a difference. We ask guests to adopt simple measures for a more sustainable stay, from reusing bed linens and towels to being mindful of water use, from using waste bins to encouraging guests to avoid wasting food during breakfast.

Environmental certification

We have obtained Green Key certification, a standard of excellence in sustainability in tourist hospitality.

A certificated commitment

green key

The Hotel Crystal Palace is pleased to announce that it has obtained the Green Key certification, an international eco-label for tourism establishments promoted by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).

Certification date: [24/10/2024]
Certification valid until: [24/10/2026]

Green Key recognizes establishments that integrate environmental management and sustainability criteria into their operations. Maintaining the certification requires continuous compliance with the scheme requirements, verified through documentation and periodic audits.

The certification process covers several aspects of property management, including the efficient use of resources, waste management, guest and staff awareness, and the progressive improvement of environmental performance.

We are proud to have achieved Green Key certification and to engage guests and employees in more responsible behaviors regarding resource use and the management of environmental impacts associated with their stay.
